FAQs FAQs
The UNBLOKC Hackathon is open to all Filipinos in the Philippines aged 18 and above. We welcome teams of students, a mix of alumni and currently enrolled students, developers from one organization or different institutions, CEOs, web3 enthusiasts, and startups – anyone passionate about innovation!
To apply, register your team at this link: bit.ly/UNBLOKC2023_Hackathon. Submit a 1-2 minute video introducing your team, discussing your idea, and showcasing your skills. Upload the video to YouTube as 'Unlisted.' Selected teams will be notified via email by April 28th.
Absolutely! This hackathon is designed for team participation as we believe in the power of collaboration.
Currently, we only accept applications from teams of at least two members. We encourage you to find a teammate to join the competition. Alternatively, you can attend our online learning sessions and workshops to network, gain knowledge, and potentially find inspiration for our next hackathon.
For face-to-face (F2F) or on-site learning sessions/workshops, please refrain from bringing weapons, drugs, or alcohol. If you are uncertain about a particular item, feel free to ask us ahead of time.
For F2F workshops, bring your own devices, internet source, and any other necessary hardware.
The application deadline is Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Participation in the hackathon is entirely FREE.
Teams must consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 5 members.
Participants will have access to learning sessions, workshops, networking opportunities, and the chance to compete for cash prizes and an 8-week mentorship program if the team decides to continue the project as a startup.
Our Code of Conduct requires participants to treat each other with respect, adhere to rules on pre-existing work, and foster a positive and inclusive environment. Any form of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated. Read more here.
Embracing diverse learning preferences, we offer face-to-face (F2F) learning sessions tailored to each individual's unique learning style. Rest assured, you won't be disqualified if you're unable to attend F2F sessions since we have teams participating from all across the Philippines. However, we highly recommend joining these in-person sessions to reap the benefits of networking, hands-on learning, and connecting with fellow developers and seasoned professionals in the startup ecosystem.
Absolutely! Make sure to clearly specify which parts or features you'll be developing during the hackathon and showcase them during the demo. For more details, refer to the Application Guidelines under Rules on Pre-existing Projects. Moreover, this event presents a fantastic opportunity to pitch your startup, as our panel of judges includes esteemed representatives from top incubators and accelerators.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at theblokchackathon@gmail.com.
